Answer to Question 1

a

Answer to Question 2

While it is commendable that crops are being harvested for fuel, corn is also used to feed people, livestock. The additional demand for corn for bio-fuel places a burden on the fields and farmers that produce corn. The lure of higher profits from bio-fuel production may encourage farmers to sell their crops to alternative energy producers instead of distributing their crops to people as a food source.
Also, vast areas of natural lands may be converted into fields to grow corn for bio-fuel production. This will further reduce the biodiversity that is so important for the health and future of the planet.
