The first principle of diet planning is that the foods we choose must provide energy and the essential nutrients, including:
 a. water.
 b. fuel.
 c. oxygen.
 d. carbon dioxide.
  e. hydrogen.

Question 2

Metabolism of carbohydrates, fats, and proteins, yield energy for the body. Even when the body has plenty of protein available, the energy obtained from protein is less desirable than energy from fats or carbohydrates. Why?
