The National Down Syndrome Society (www.ndss.org) cautions parents about the ineffectiveness of nutrient and herbal supplements to discourage their use, but interest continues. It is important for care providers to be encouraged to discuss with a trusted health professional whatever supplements or over-the-counter products are of interest before giving them to young children
