Cow's milk-based formula is used for healthy term infants 012 months of age. Soy-based formula may be used for infants on vegetarian diets; it may also be used for infants who have galactosemia or a hereditary lactase deficiency. Amino acid-based formula is used for infants who have extreme protein hypersensitivity.
