Answer to Question 1

Answer: An external locus of control is when you believe that events are more a matter of luck and the arbitrary decisions of powerful people. An example might be when you attributed the fact that you got a speeding ticket to the speed trap that the police set up, rather than your fast driving.

Answer to Question 2

Answer: These considerations are called expectancies, what someone expects to happen based on past experiences that were rewarding.
