You have been exercising more lately but feeling run down after your workouts. To improve energy during and after exercise and aid in recovery from exercise, you decide to modify your food and beverage choices

A pre-exercise meal should include carbohydrate and protein and be low in fat. During exercise, an easily digested carbohydrate or sports drink is a good option. After exercise, you should eat a meal, snack, or beverage with a 3:1 carbohydrate-to-protein ratio.
