Answer to Question 1

Answer: Individual differences in extraversion can be caused by people adapting to different environments. Findings suggest that people have different personalities because their environments sometimes favored one type of personality over another.

Answer to Question 2

Answer: People have a universal need to belong. When people are excluded from groups, they often behave badly. Even rejection by a group of strangers can cause people to become hostile and aggressive.
