Answer to Question 1

Cryokinetics is an effective new technique for injury rehabilitation. This treatment calls for alternating cold
applications and light exercise after the injured tissue has started to heal. Exercise of the injured limb during this
treatment must be guided by the pain associated with its use. Start with an exercise intensity that provides little or
no pain, and increase intensity gradually as long as no increase in pain occurs.

Answer to Question 2

Injuries involved with running occur primarily in the foot and knee because of the excessive stress placed on the
legs and feet. The factors most closely associated with running injuries are improper training techniques, poor
equipment, and alignment problems in the legs and feet.

These people included 55 lung cancer patients, 31 breast cancer patients, and 83 cancer-free patients. The dogs detected 54 of the 55 lung cancer patients as having cancer, detected 28 of the 31 breast cancer patients, and gave only three false-positive results (detecting cancer in people who didn't have it).
