Answer to Question 2

Osteoporosis affects the trabecular bone areas on the ends of the long bones as well as the irregular shaped bones. This honey comb like tissue, that has already been produced, thins out in osteoporosis and the bones are more susceptible to sudden fracture. Osteomalacia is softening of the bones throughout the bone tissue. This may affect the long bone shafts as well. The bones are not able to be built as effectively due to Vitamin D deficiency. (http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/osteomalacia/DS00935). People develop bone pain and muscle weakness in addition to increase risk of fractures.

The dogs detected 54 of the 55 lung cancer patients as having cancer, detected 28 of the 31 breast cancer patients, and gave only three false-positive results (detecting cancer in people who didn't have it).
