There is a lot of discussion as to whether the high fructose corn syrup (HFCS), used in soda, contributes to weight gain more than cane sugar. Studies are being carried out that suggest that HFCS may not contribute more to obesity. Soda manufacturers want people to know the facts about the total calories in their products.
