This Federal Food Drug and Cosmetic Act was enacted in 1937 . There were many products before this time that had seriously injured or killed people. This Act gives the FDA the ability to investigate any drugs, foods, cosmetics, or medical devices that could cause harm to the consumer (www.fda.gov). The FDA enforces this law to this day but needs involved consumers to bring forth potentially harmful supplements such these substances can be removed from the marketplace.
