Celiac disease can mimic Crohn's disease or Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). Crohn's disease is inflammation of any structure in the digestive system that may be triggered by a variety of sources. IBS is still being investigated as to its triggers and causes. A strong family history of Celiac disease along with associated symptoms that get worse after eating wheat products would help someone realize that they could have Celiac disease.
