Answer to Question 1

Alcohol and Hangovers
A hangover actually consists of a group of ailments, usually including but not limited to headache, nausea, vomiting, sensitivity to light and sound, dry mouth, and irritability. As explained earlier, dehydration results from excessive consumption of alcohol, and it is thought to be the main factor contributing to what is referred to as a hangover. In addition, alcohol affects the stomach lining, causing considerable distention. As the depressive effects of alcohol wear off, the person's sensitivity to noise and sound are amplified. Although theories (and myths) abound about how and why hangovers occur and how to subdue their effects, the best way to avoid these unwanted side effects is to drink in moderation.

Did you know?

Although the Roman numeral for the number 4 has always been taught to have been "IV," according to historians, the ancient Romans probably used "IIII" most of the time. This is partially backed up by the fact that early grandfather clocks displayed IIII for the number 4 instead of IV. Early clockmakers apparently thought that the IIII balanced out the VIII (used for the number 8) on the clock face and that it just looked better.

It most often affects middle-aged and elderly individuals, spreading to surrounding tissue in the lungs. The disease often does not respond to conventionally successful treatments, and requires individualized therapies in order to keep it from becoming life-threatening.
