All of the following are true regarding gains in life expectancy EXCEPT:
  1.in 1900, 1 in 10 newborns died in the first year of life, and today it is less than 1 in 100.
  2.the use of mass vaccines has prevented diphtheria in infants and children.
  3.HIV/AIDs is increasing in infants and children.
  4.medical treatments and surgical advancements have added to the life expectancy.
