Answer to Question 1

HDL cholesterol is largely made up of protein while LDL cholesterol is largely made up of cholesterol and triglycerides. HDL cholesterol helps remove cholesterol from the blood and carries cholesterol to the liver for its eventual excretion from the body, reducing total blood cholesterol and providing protection from heart disease. LDL cholesterol can be incorporated into artery plaque and can lead to atherosclerosis and heart disease.

Answer to Question 2

LDL
