Kristin and Lisa are getting ready to go out for Lisa's 21st birthday. Kristin and Lisa's other friends are planning on helping Lisa have a good time. Lisa has never drunk alcohol and does not know how she should plan to drink safely. Kristin promises to take care of Lisa throughout the evening. Before going downtown to meet their friends Kristin and Lisa each have a fruity mixed drink and decide to wait to eat until they are at the restaurant. Thirty minutes later Lisa and Kristin meet their friends and enjoy a round of drinks to celebrate while ordering from the dinner menu. By the time the meal arrives Lisa is feeling the effects of the alcohol in her system, but the friends agree to order another round of drinks. After dinner the friends walk down to the disco and start dancing and each have two or three more drinks in the next hour. A short while later Lisa is having a hard time seeing, hearing, and coordinating her body movements. She starts to feel nauseous and goes to the bathroom to throw up. Kristin decides that they should go home. In the cab on the way home Lisa starts to fall asleep.
