Answer to Question 1

Consumers can be categorized as one of three types: users of services, referral sources, and other decision makers. The users of services are the clients themselves or potential clients. For example, the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program identifies its users as low-in come pregnant or breastfeeding women and mothers of children under five years of age. Referral sources include anyone who refers clients or customers to you. They may include physicians, social workers, teachers, and former clients. Other decision makers are those who influence the client's decision to use a service or join a program. Such people include family members (spouses, parents) and third-party payers, among others.

Answer to Question 2

 Farmers' markets
 Community-supported agriculture programs
 Community gardens
 Food recovery and gleaning programs
 Food-buying cooperatives
Directory of supply and demand for community food surplus
