Answer to Question 1

D

Answer to Question 2

A study that compared diets around the world, (The Seven Countries Study), determined that in two countries with a similar high-fat intake had very different risk of heart disease. Upon examination, people from Finland, which had a high-fat intake and a high risk of heart disease, ate a diet that was high in saturated fats. People from Crete, however, had a diet that was high in monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats, and a very low risk for heart disease. This led to the idea that it was the type of fat, rather than simply the amount of fat, that was important in determining this risk.
