Pierre-Simon Laplace was the first to realize that ocean depth and the location of the continents need
to be taken into consideration to understand tides. He also included in his theory that tides are still true
waves. He incorporated all these concepts to create the dynamic theory of tides. Information can be

Organisms can tolerate varying amounts of exposure to air rather than the normal ocean conditions.
