Nitro phenols are more acidic than phenols because of the electron-withdrawing inductive effect of the NO2 group. Also, the negative charge of the phenoxide ion on the ortho and para positions of nitrophenol is delocalized onto the oxygen atom of the NO2 group, thus making it more stable and acidic.
