Answer to Question 1

If the computer is connected to a network or even just the Internet, commands can be sent to that computer over the Internet or network connection. It is recommended that investigators are aware of any networking connections, wireless or otherwise, made to the computer in question. If such a connection is active, it is recommended that the investigator photograph the connection of the network cable with all other cables, and then remove the network cable prior to continuing with the initial analysis and system documentation. This prevents anyone taking any remote action.
