Answer to Question 1

Due to its low density, cork has excellent acoustical and thermal insulating characteristics, as 90 percent of the tissue is made of gaseous matter.
Cork quickly returns to its original shape after it is released from pressure.
The seal Suberin is a waxy substance, which stops gases and liquids from penetrating cork.
Because cork does not absorb dust, it is valuable for use in locations where allergy issues are a concern.
Due to the fact that cork is not as affected by friction as some other hard surfaces, this material is quite durable.
Due to its composition, cork is a natural fire retardant. It will not release toxic gases or spread flames in instances of combustion.
