Answer to Question 1

The process begins with flat mesh screens secured in a frame. The image section is placed onto resist-covered screen. Resist (frequently wax) provides a block against all openings except those within the design range. A rubber squeegee is manipulated to move the ink across the screen. This pushes the ink through openings onto the wallcovering.
