What are the negative and positive effects of remaining single longer?
 
  What will be an ideal response?

Question 2

In the past, a good marriage was measured by how well each spouse:
 
  a. contributed to the couple's emotional development.
  b. maintained amicable relationships with in-laws.
  c. responded to their partner's needs.
  d. fulfilled the socially prescribed roles of husband and wife.

Answer to Question 1

The negative effects included increased risk of problems during pregnancy, being older parents, having fewer children (which impacts other industries), and more difficulty compromising. The positive effects include better economic circumstances, willingness to communicate and work toward a positive experience, and a greater chance of marital success.
