The START II Treaty called for
 
  a. a reduction in United States and Russian strategic nuclear warheads by 3,500.
  b. a reduction in United States and Russian strategic nuclear warheads to about 6,000.
  c. the expansion of multiple warheads (MIRVs) on strategic weapons as a means of increasing stability with fewer strategic delivery vehicles.
  d. the dismantlement of all tactical, short-range, nuclear weapons by the end of implementation of the pact.
  e. Both options A and C are true.
