Answer to Question 1

The primary roles of the AMA are to (1) always understand and satisfy the needs of marketers so as to provide them with products and services that will help them be better marketers; (2) empower marketers through information, education, relationships, and resources that will enrich their professional development and careers; and (3) advance the thought, application, and ethical practice of marketing.
In the area of promotions, a marketer should avoid false and misleading advertising; reject high-pressure manipulations or misleading sales tactics; and avoid sales promotions that use deception or manipulation. The ad appears to false and misleading, thus violating the AMAs standards.
