Answer to Question 1

Some of the more general concerns include issues dealing with self, family, peer relationships, other people, illness, death, and world problems. Children frequently become aware of issues in the news by hearing adults discussions and by overhearing media broadcasts. Terrorism, wars, and criminal acts may be known to young children.

Answer to Question 2

The benefits of bibliotherapy include the providing of information, mutual sharing of a problem, empathy for the difficulty, exploring the options for action, and putting problems in a proper overall perspective.
