Answer to Question 1

Planning is important. The story should be reviewed prior to the sharing. Lining up the pieces needed beforehand is helpful for a smooth story. Maintaining eye contact and telling the story at a slower pace will help maintain understanding and attention. Interaction with the children as the story unfolds, allowing students to place some of the pieces on the flannelboard, and a retelling by the children can help create involvement in the story.

Answer to Question 2

ANSWER: so that the children become familiar with the room
