Answer to Question 1

Anaphylaxis is a form of shock that is life-threatening. The victim may experience a range of symptoms, including difficulty breathing (with or without bluish discoloration around the lips and nailbeds), swelling of the mouth and/or eyelids, itching and hives, anxiety and restlessness. Teachers should call for emergency medical assistance (911). If the victim has an EpiPen, it should be administered at once.

Answer to Question 2

Inhalant: pollen, molds, dust, dander
Ingestants: milk, eggs, wheat, nuts and peanuts, shellfish Contactants: wool, grass, lotions
Injectables: medications, bee stings
