Answer to Question 1

It is helpful to provide a quiet place for the baby to nurse and to time the baby's feedings to the mother's schedule. A sign should be posted that indicates that breastfed babies are welcome in your early childhood environment. It would be helpful to include fathers and others in the infant's life to help support the mother's decision to breastfeed. When a mother feels like everyone is happy about her breastfeeding decision, she is more likely to continue.

Answer to Question 2

Culture influences how food is prepared, seasoned, and even how or when it is eaten. Cultural differences should be considered when developing a mealtime pattern for young children. If an early childhood education environments site has children from many cultures, it must adopt a comfortable schedule and routine that includes as many of the cultural representations as possible.
