Answer to Question 1

Physical activity and exercise are preventative measures and should be used as a component of the diet. Today children are more involved in sedentary activities, and the teacher who encourages exercise as a part of the daily program helps to provide a broad base for good nutrition, especially in reducing the risk for obesity. Encouraging physical activity helps to ensure the protection of good health and well-being.

Answer to Question 2

The sectors of influence include outside sources of food such as fast food and the larger portion sizes found there, at schools, and at other places children eat. Agriculture is another source of influence due to the food that is grown and available for consumption, such as processed foods like grain desserts and snacks with high fat and sodium content. Another sector of influence would be the built environmentif a child doesn't have an outdoor area to play in, it would be difficult to be physically active. Children without access to outdoor environments may also be watching a lot of television or playing a lot of video games.
