1) Sparingly introduce new foods. 2) Place new foods adjacent to familiar foods. 3) Be a role model. 4) Note other children who are enjoying their food. 5) Talk about how the food was prepared, where it came from, who helped get the food on the plate (i.e. farmers, truck drivers). 6) Be sure the food is not too spicy or gluey, not too hot nor too cold. 7) Vary the textures, colors, and flavors. 8) Put a little fun in the food (i.e. peach face). 9) Have children help in the preparation of food.
