Routines such as feeding, diapering, and playing are the curriculum of this age-group. During these times, caregivers interact with a child and provide educational opportunities.

Through responsive and reciprocal interactions, caregiver and baby learn about each other. Communication on a one-to-one is intense and focused. Caregivers observe, listen, and come to know babies cues.
