Routines such as feeding, diapering, and playing are the curriculum of this age-group. During these times, caregivers interact with a child and provide educational opportunities.

Through responsive and reciprocal interactions, caregiver and baby learn about each other. Communication on a one-to-one is intense and focused. Caregivers observe, listen, and come to know babies cues.

Extensive health, education, and social services have been offered to children and their families from the inception of Head Start to provide health and medical screening and treatment for thousands of youngsters.
