Answer to Question 1

ANSWER:
Progressive educational philosophy asks teachers to recognize individual needs and differences, be attentive to childrens needs, believe that children learn best when highly motivated and genuinely interested in the material, hold that learning via rote memory is useless, be aware of each childs total development, and trust that children learn best when in direct contact with the material.

Answer to Question 2

ANSWER:
Children learn to manage themselves in groups, make and share friendships, solve problems, and cooperate. Schools are child-centered and use everyday experiences as a major part of the curriculum. Teachers establish relationships with families, deepen and extend home values, and teach social skills as much as academics.
