ANSWER:
Some common problems are getting to know the environment and learning where things are; using a professional code of ethics and learning not to talk about children outside of class; learning to interact appropriately with children and maintaining a role as teacher, not playmate; allowing children time to solve their own problems, such as putting on their own coats; being alert to the whole group; never leaving children unsupervised; and learning to handle conflicts between children.

Core values: appreciating uniqueness of childhood; knowing child development; supporting close ties between family and child; understanding children in the context of family, culture, and society; respecting the dignity and worth of every individual; helping children and adults achieve their full potential through trusting and positive relationships. Relationship to own attitudes: should include some reflection on the students beliefs about diversity, anti-bias, and equity.
