Answer to Question 1

Answer: A

Answer to Question 2

Answer: Family studies have found that OCD is associated with Tourette's syndrome, which is characterized by muscular and vocal tics: facial grimaces, squatting, pacing, twirling, barking, sniffing, coughing, grunting, or repeating specific words (especially vulgarities). Patients with obsessive-compulsive disorder had tics and that many patients with Tourette's syndrome showed obsessions and compulsions. A family association between OCD and tic disorders suggests the two disorders are produced by the same underlying genotype.
