Authentic Assessment

Student Activity: You will be conducting two observations. One observation will be conducted in a "home school" environment. The second observation will be in a traditional school with a same-age peer. The purpose of your observations is to compare and contrast the two school experiences.
During your observations, focus on the following issues:
∙ Curriculum;
∙ Social interaction and opportunities;
∙ Time-on-task;
∙ Challenging learning environments;
∙ Extracurricular activities; and
∙ Other issues you observe as significant factors.

Write a four-page overview of your observations, comparing and contrasting the two educational experiences.
