Question 1

Patient seen in the clinic complaining of irritated throat, runny nose, and pressure in the cheek area for the last three days. Pressure seems to be worse today. Patient reports some coughing but denies headaches, just pressure in cheeks. Temperature has been normal. The patient takes no daily medications, but takes ibuprofen 80 mg as needed for pain. ____________________

Patient seen in the urgent care center for back pain extending down both legs, with feeling of numbness at times. This has been going on for about five months but has become intolerable lately. She notices it more when she is driving the car. The patient denies any trauma. She recently started a new job. She denies any sense of weakness. No bowel or bladder habit changes. She is not allergic to any medications. She has a history of diabetes and takes glucose tablets. She smokes two packs of cigarettes a day and drinks alcohol occasionally. ____________________
