How would Vygotsky describe the changes in cognition that occur during the primary years? How does this differ from Piaget's description of growth during this period?

Why do children in the primary grades remember more and for longer periods than when they were in the preschool years? In your answer, define the various forms of memory and discuss specific metacognitive strategies which can enhance it. Name at least three parts of the brain that have been associated in past research with specific types of memory, and identify the type of memory with which they have been identified.
