Answer 1

Ecotourism is viewed by some people as a tourism product since it is referred to in travel brochures and guidebooks promoting nature-based tourism experiences. For others, ecotourism suggests an approach to travel that is environmentally and culturally responsible. Students can state their perspective and argue either definition on the basis of examples.

Answer 2

The travel and tourism portion of total restaurant industry revenues falls in the 15-30 range based on type of establishment and location. A luxury or upscale restaurant in a large city that caters to visitors will report a much higher travel and tourism-related percentage than a fast-food outlet in a suburban area, for example.
