The procedures in high demand include heart operations, organ transplants, and cancer treatment, all of which can be prohibitively expensive in developed countries. These overseas facilities in India, Singapore, and elsewhere maintain high standards and are generally staffed by medical personnel who have been trained in the United States and Europe. The procedures can be obtained for a fraction of the cost and, before and afterward, patients can tour the areas.
