The commercial aviation industry benefited greatly from the escalating military expenditures that emanated from the Cold War struggle (1946-1989 ) between the United States and the Soviet Union and led to faster, bigger aircraft which led to scale economies and lower airline fares for consumers.

Local: a local government agency funding community-based tourism initiatives

Regional: The U.S. Forest Service and U.S. National Park Service are responsible for managing key natural assets across state lines.

International: The Nature Conservancy, UNDP, World Wildlife Fund
