 Greatly varies depending on the IDD diagnosis
 Physical  epilepsy, heart problems, sensory disorders, deafness, and physical abnormalities
 Psychological  internalizing symptoms (anxiety and mood disturbances) and externalizing problems (oppositional defiant disorder and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder)
 In severe forms of IDD, may see symptoms similar to autism and self-injurious behaviors
