What is the basis of the specificity theory of pain?

◦ Injury to specific organs results in specific types of pain.
◦ Chronic pain is generally less intense than acute pain.
◦ The greater the tissue injury, the greater the pain.
◦ Acute pain is specific only to certain injuries.
