Answer to Question 1

James Jones (1997, p. 280) remarks in his writings about the unique challenges associated with biculturalism that one's loyalty, commitment, and identity are challenged by this culturally perceived dualism..

Answer to Question 2

Graham et al. (2007) reviewed the research on immunity and social relationships and contend that there is solid evidence reflected in findings of poorer immunological responses, presence of mouth ulcers, or slower wound healing, that marital conflict can lead to immune system dysregulation. They also point to a strong body of evidence for immune system dysregulation being associated with the experience of relationship burden in the form of long-term caregiving for a loved one, such as a spouse with Alzheimer's disease. Therefore, there is considerable evidence that social strain can produce physiological conditions that increase the risk for adverse health.
