Overall, men's sexual fantasies tend to be more active and aggressive than women's (Zurbriggen & Yost, 2004). They are often more frequent and impersonal, dominated by visual images.

Are there gender differences in sexual fantasy? On the surface, it appears so. But we have to be careful in interpreting these findings. It could be that men have an easier time discussing their sexual fantasies than women do.
