ANS: Syndrome X is a group of risk factors that, together, increase the risk of heart disease. The risk factors include abdominal obesity, too much glucose in the blood and insulin resistance, high blood pressure and high levels of fat in the blood, a low HDL cholesterol, and smaller and more dense LDL cholesterol particles.
