2) A behavior change approach to nutrition education deliberately incorporates healthful behavioral change as a primary outcome of the intervention. Psychosocial factors related to behavior are often addressed such as behavioral capabilities and self-efficacy. Behavioral modification strategies are implemented and can involve self-assessments, identification of healthful eating behaviors, goal-setting, incentives, and reinforcements.
3) An environmental change or public policy approach to nutrition education focuses on the physical, political, and socioeconomic environment impacting health behaviors.
