Nutrition education is different from education in general because its goal is changed dietary behaviors. Changing behavior is more difficult than just memorizing or learning information.
Education for older learners is best designed around their personal limitations, such as declines in visual acuity and hearing loss. These may include such things as using larger type sizes, using fonts that are more easily readable, using bold type and high contrast, avoidance of colored paper and print, and a reading level of fifth to eighth grade for general audiences.
